The WOJRC offers the following services:
Careers in Construction Orientation:
General orientations to the construction trades and apprenticeship programs are held every every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 9:30am. Specialized orientations for women are held monthly (link to calendar).
Specific apprenticeship programs conduct trade-specific orientations and recruitment sessions on an on-going basis. Check calendar to learn about upcoming workshops (link to calendar):
Apprenticeship Test Preparation:
Math tutoring to prepare individuals to take apprenticeship tests is provided every Tuesday from 5-7pm.
One-on-one counseling and career guidance to individuals interested in careers in the construction trades.
Contractors, apprenticeship programs, pre-apprenticeship programs, transitional employment, other supportive services.
Positions that will be referred through the Center include laborers, carpenters, electricians, truck drivers, operators, pipefitters, hazardous material handlers and others.
The West Oakland Job Resource Center is on the second floor of the West Oakland Library at 1801 Adeline Street. The Center can be reached via the AC Transit NL and 26 lines. Hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
